We provide a safe and compassionate place for you to discuss whatever challenges have brought you to therapy and aim to help you get to know and nurture all parts of your Self.

We believe that each client is the true expert on their identity and experiences, and that every LGBTQIA+ person has a unique story of self-discovery and disclosure of their sexual and/or gender identity. We can help you identify and understand your sexual and/or gender identity and support you in living authentically.

At Four Corners Counseling & Well-Being, we recognize the impact that homophobia and transphobia have on the mental, emotional, and spiritual health of LGBTQIA+ people. Common Questions and Concerns about Therapy for LGBTQIA+ Individuals

  • Going to therapy can feel like a risk at first, and it’s natural to have concerns about whether it can really help. It can take time to feel comfortable with a new person, and to open up about things you haven’t shared with anyone before. You can ask any questions you have about the experience of your new therapist and about how they can help you. Together, you and your therapist will discuss your goals and hopes for therapy and how you can work to build a safe relationship that allows you to get the help you are seeking. 

  • It can feel like a big adjustment to relate to someone you care about in a different way, once they share important information about their sexual or gender identity. In therapy, you don’t have to get it right - you can express your own feelings about this change in your relationship. In fact, therapy is the place where you can have questions and get answers without judgment. And sometimes you don’t even need answers - you just need a place to think and feel and process before talking more with your loved one or friend. You can do that in therapy, and we can help.
